BITTERSWEET
I feel like I've lost friends. Michael (Book Six Risking Love) is the last book in the series. It is under contract with my publisher Black Velvet Seductions and in the hands of the BVS editor.
When I finished writing and doing the edits on Michael, it gave me a bittersweet feeling. I got the rush of joy one gets when they accomplish their goal. It didn't last long because numbness followed. I felt stuck.
What do I do now? Do I take a break from writing? Try something new? Maybe go back to the things I used to enjoy doing before I became a writer. There were long walks in the woods, golfing, and lots more time to read.
Or should I jump back in with the romance series that has been playing in the back of my mind? Maybe write the serial killer book so many readers have asked for after they read Patrick (Book One Risking Love).
In the end, I took a hiatus for a few weeks and started reading the Cowboy Desire anthology, which I'm loving. Kept up with marketing, did a bit of media training with some new authors, and got to work on organizing my home. Everything is now right where it should be. Sigh.
Writing stayed on my mind. What to do? Believe it or not, the serial killer won out. When the serial killer comes to a climax, I'm sure I'll go back to my favorite genre contemporary romance and romantic suspense.
Michael will be here soon. So, if you haven't yet, you have time to get started on the Risking Love books one-five before Michael arrives. I will miss all the characters from the Risking Love series. Especially the six female friends that made it all possible: Jaq, Carlie, Violet, Tessa, Bella, and Olivia.
